Minkyu - Describing myself as a langauge learner

I can remember when exactly I started to learn English. Possibly, I.have been studying English for nearly 15years. However, In Korea, the method of learning English is sort of wrong. We don't learn English at all. We just memorise English. I should have realised that earlier when I was in my first English class. I can't remember what it was like but I might have sang a song or watched some English cartoons.

I've never taken exams in English apart from an entrance exam to go to Uni. Most students in Korea take the entrance exam which is consists of a few different subjects, one of the subjects is English. By the way I want to take Ielts just in case I'll need the score in the future. I can apply for a position as an exchange student later, for instance. Plus, Honestly the reason I'm studying English at the moment is to get an amazing job. I Really want to work for an international sports company. So I need the official global English score.

I really don't like my level of English. I'm not satisfied with it at all. So I'll study harder than now. I'll do everything as possible as I can. I reckon studying alone is also important but there are a lot more interesting and effective things outside such as chatting with friends in English, hanging around anywhere. ETC.

I really like the English language. Many expressions are beautiful and completely gorgeous but sometimes I feel there are a limitations to show someone my real feeling or opinion. It's not about my level of English. I suppose English has less fewer words relatively.

Shohei - Describing myself as a langauge learner

1. I've been studying English for 8 years.
2. In the first lesson I started learning the alphabet. It was completly different. I attempted to memorise with a song. I was always confused the sequence between "m" and "n".
3. I took an exam to pass the go to uni. I had to read an article that were was composed of 4500 words within 80 minutes. I had usually attained 75%, but my score was 65%. I was shocked.
4. Actually I haven't got any strong reason. Yet I purely enjoy studying. I have been thinking about my future, I mean what I wanna do. It's obscure. I'm sure that studying English can spread my possibility and it would be enrich my life.
5. To be honest, I'm unwilling to go to the USA. I had decided to go to Newzealand New Zealand after I would come go back to Japan.
6. My English level is so so, I think coz it's unsteady. I'm do not always speaking fluently. It's considerably different dependsing on the topic. The problem is when I talk with English people I'm overwhelmed. So I attempt to provide my own every time.
7. There is TV in my room. I try to listen every day. It has been long time since I watched TV in Brighton. I became able to grasp the entire content in of the News.
8. There are so many phrasal verbs. It's They're challenging for me. I'll have to remember them coz English always uses them in daily life. It would be more confortable if I made good use of it them.
9. Especially, my emphasis is speaking. I feel my reading skill is decreasing, but I'm gonna do it intensively in Japan. I wanna add more specific thing each topic.

Luciana - Describing myself as a langauge learner

I’ve been studying English for almost 10 years.
I started to study English at the elementary school.
What I can remember, since I was very young, is that the lessons were all based on games and songs.
In middle school I started to study a little more seriously, studying grammar.
I continued to study even in high school, where I got the certifications PET and FIRST certificates.
For almost two years I did not speak English and I have not studied more much, so that my level has gone down.
I started over last year to study at Cambridge and I continued throughout the year by taking private lessons.
As well as participateing in the lessons and studying individually, often I see the I often watch TV series subtitled in English and I read books in English.
I'm pretty satisfied with my level of English, but I would like to take it much higher.

I would also like to be able to take the IELTS with and get a level of 7.

Flavia - Describing myself as a langauge learner

I’ve been studying English for almost twenty years, I started in primary school, and continued through middle school and high school. When I was at University I didn’t have English language exams, but most of the books we had to study were written in English (Italian studies on Asian culture are not very common), so I have been practicing practising my reading and comprehension for many years.
I can’t remember too much very much of my first English class, I can only remember that I liked my English teacher, so maybe I enjoyed studying English with her.
I haven’t taken any English exams yet, but I want to take get the IELTS certification as soon as possible, that’s why I’m studying here. I really want to find a good job here in London,  so I need to improve my English and I need a certification that proves my knowledge of this language.
I would like to visit Australia, the USA (I’ve only been to Washington DC and New York) and Great Britain, of course: I’ve only been to London and Limerick , in Ireland, but I know that there are so many beautiful places to visit in this country.
I am quite confident in my English, especially in reading and listening;  I have some problems in speaking and pronunciation (I really don’t like my Italian accent when I speak English), and sometimes in English grammar.
When I’m outside class I try to practise my English as much as I can. At work I have to use English, when I'm with my friends and my boyfriend I use English, I usually go to the cinema with my boyfriend or watch movies at home with my flatmates, and I really like to read free magazines in the tube, like Stylist, the Evening Standard Magazine or Time Out.
I like the English language, I like listening to English people and I like speaking English. But sometimes I find its pronunciation really difficult to imitate and to remember, this is the only aspect that I don’t like in this language, and it is the thing that I want to improve.
