Alex Lai - My First Impression of London
Student:
Alex Lai
My First Impression of London
I have went to
many cities around world, but without London; that make me thinking about to go
to this city even harder, meanwhile there was a chance for me to take a long
vacation, I decided to go to London.
After a long
fly from Taiwan to London, finally the destination was arrived. I got out from
airport jumped into a bus to go to where I would stay during this vacation. In
the bus, it was moving fast and I watched the sky throughout the window, it was
a little cloudy and gloomy that made me feel a little bit cold. Then I watched
the street of city, building, cars and people all fill in the city with some
kind of order. I looked people walking
through the sidewalk, they walked very fast compare to my hometown, therefore
for me London still is a mysterious place.
Truly, London is a huge and crowd city with cold weather.
However, I have three weeks to explore this city; I would like to understand
the history , cultures and humanities. I believe that I will find the beauties
of London very soon.

Fannys assignment
This is my first time in London.
By the time I got off the airplane, all I saw was a grand big city lying gracefully in the hub: the buildings were glittering because of their especially designated glassy exteriors, which thus created the changing angles of beams all the time. As we passed by the streets, I simply couldn't take my sight out of these kind of bustles and hustles flowing from this city: this was solely a sense of fashion, mixed up by the old traditions and modern perspectives.
First day in London we got a quick look over Leicester Square. We guys had a dinner in China town, but I literally made an excuse for exploration of the spots nearby. I wandered around the square and surprisingly got into a circus with white and tall buildings around, which later I knew it was so-called Piccadilly Circus. At that moment, I just stopped. I just awed. I just too stunned to say any single word. May be it so new to me; may be it really a great place ever. In turn, I would say I'd never known the meanings of art till I met London.
The following day we went visit the Westminster. As the time we arrived, the gothic style of church standing still under the clear blue sky gave me a sacred honor in the air. Again, I was so that stunned. The mosaic windows with vivid paintings on them projected the great sun shines outside. The sculptures on every single site in this church were all well treated and elaborated. Nothing is out of the place even though it has already been though a long long time passed. I had no idea how I was so impressed. I truly wanted to cry, deep from my heart. Luckily, it was a sunny day, the temperature was freaking low that day tho. Alongside the Thames, I saw the London eye but it wasn't that which made my breaths taken off. It was the Thames. I felt confident; I felt serene; I felt tranquil by this sunset on the river. Truly, no any adjective could give London a precise description. That is to say, everything in London is beyond description.
And the my trip keeps going on.

3 possitve things about the netherlands
Some interesting things in the Netherlands
The tulips
The Netherlands is well known for its flowers. You will find field with
thousands of tulips, roses, hyacinths and tons
of other flowers. Walking through these flower fields is like going through a
sea of colors. In some occasions there decorations made out of flowers for
special tulips festivals and ‘paintings’. Each year there is taking place a
tulips festival in “Noordoostpolder”. The
festival runs from late April to early May.(pictures can be found
below)
With millions of flowers sold every year, The Netherlands has
been called “The flower shop of the year” since the 16th century.
(There is also a dutch joint called "Dutch tulip joint")
The windmills
to start of i should tell about the windmills of Schiedam.
Here you can find the five largest windmill in the world! Those windmills, which
sometimes are over 40 meters tall, were used to produce jenever and to pump
water away. This was very important because The Netherlands is, on a lot of
places, below sea level. (See video below)
But they are better known for grinding grain. Which some of
them are still doing. But now a days most of these windmills are used as a
museum or sight.

Brazil
You have already heard about Brazil and its increasing highlight in global scenario as the seventh biggest economy of the world. But you probably don’t know some details regarding this country whose lovely inhabitants can transform your stay in a unforgettable and unique experience.
Due a fertile soil from south to the north of its territory and a climate that allows a whole year of production Brazilians are used to say that “it doesn’t matter you sow, it will grow”. Because of that you will get surprised with the enormous variety of fruits, grains and vegetables you’ve never seen before and that you can pick off directly from the trees, such as pitanga, jabuticaba, ciriguela, jatobá, cagaita, baru, sapoti, abiu, jambo, jamelão, marmelo and others.

Brazilians usually have 4 different meals during a day. A breakfast when get up, a lunch at noon, some snacks or fruits at afternoon and a dinner at evening.
Being a tropical country, you can easily find fresh home made juices prepared at any restaurants or specialized shops in this area.
